Heart Chakra

4th Chakra-Anahata

4th : Heart Chakra, Anahata in Sanskrit, which means "unhurt/unbroken." The gland associated is the Thymus.

The heart chakra is located in the center of your chest at heart level. It is the center of love (for yourself and others), altruism, forgiveness, compassion, generosity, kindness and respect. It is integrating and unifying, a healing center, since love is the ultimate healing force. The element is Air, which is gentle, nurturing and integral to our survival. It can also move things with ferocity and force.

This is the joining point of the lower 3 chakras, which are more survival and physically based, and the upper 3 chakras which are more spiritually based. There must be a balance of all seven chakras and the heart is the Unifier. The heart is the very first organ that the body produces in utero. The heart is our center point.

We tend to put up "heart walls" to protect our hearts, but what we really are needing is to live with hearts wide open. A heart wall means that energy will strike against the wall and can actually cause damage. If the heart is wide open, then energy can flow through it. Anything that is meant for you, will be received and anything not meant for you will flow through without harming or hurting you.

Core beliefs that we find in the heart chakra are about love, forgiveness, compassion, generosity, kindness and respect.
 Are you lovable?
Can you love?
Do you find it easy or hard to forgive?
Do you know how to forgive yourself?
Do you have compassion for yourself? and others?
Do you share yourself with others?
Do you live in a kind universe or an unkind universe?
Do you respect yourself?
Do you treat others with respect?

The Thymus gland supports your body’s immune system by producing (until after puberty) killer T-cells and then communicating with and supporting them throughout your life. Our sense of wellness is connected directly to the heart. When we are broken hearted we become sick and unwell and when we are in love, we feel that our physical bodies can do anything.

4th chakra blend:
*OnGuard: protective blend-we want to live with hearts wide open, but that doesn't mean we are not discerning or protected. When our hearts are open and we are discerning, we receive what is meant for us and the rest passes through without damaging our heart. OnGuard is incredible support for our immune system.

*Clove: the oil of boundaries, this is related to what I stated above...we want to live with hearts wide open, but that doesn't mean we don't have clear boundaries for ourselves and others in our lives. The more wide open your heart, the more easily it is to set boundaries for yourself. Clove is serious anti-oxidant support, scoring over 1,000,000 on the ORAC scale (the scale that measures how much anti-oxidant is in a substance).

*Rose: the oil of Divine love-the heart needs Divine Love. We are created from this Divine love and are extending it out to others our whole lives. We only shrink back from Divine love when we are broken, but it is exactly what is needed to heal. Rose is also very physically powerful and is supportive of the immune system (as well as our ovaries and sex hormones).

*Myrrh: the oil of Mother Earth and of mother-our very first experience of love is from our mother. Myrrh is also powerful immune support as it is anti-bacterial, antimicrobial and anti-viral.

*Bergamot: the oil of self-assurance-this gives us the ability and permission to love ourselves...and we can only really love others as much as we love ourselves. Self-love is the key to unconditional love, because when you validate yourself, you don't need anyone to validate you, and you can love freely with no need of reciprocation, because it doesn't matter how the other person feels about you. You love to love, not to be validated. Bergamot is antibacterial and antifungal.

*Tangerine: the oil of cheer and creativity, because what pulls us out of heartbreak? Laughing at funny movies or with our friends, finding joy in the little things again. And creating out of our heartbreak. Why do you think love songs are the best songs? They are created in the healing of a broken heart! It is also a powerful anti-oxidant.
